Who is Kokum?

As I have previously posted, Evie and I had planned on sending an audition video to The Amazing Race Asia Season 3. Well, we did. Evie re-edited the video and came up with this. So for those who want to know who Kokum is, this video is for you.

Ready for Action

Look out, Bohol, here we come!

Bringing my brand new volleyball to Bohol for some hard-pumping beach volleyball action on the white sand beaches of Panglao this month. Wooohooo!

Plus, we're bringing the Kokum family (at least Kiko, Kokoy, Kyle Jr, and the twin eggs) for some ass-kicking jamming and songwriting with Brownbuds and Milan.

We're coming prepared, and we're packing all our equipment to do some serious business in Bohol - the ground-breaking of the bridge for The Happy Sun charity, and production of a mini-documentary. Wahooo!

We're packing so many activities into several days. Will we have time? Of course we will! We will make time.

Updates

My laptop is down and I have not been able to blog. I was able to use it last on Friday at the Philippine Airlines office at the Centennial Airport. I was having my ticket to Bohol rebooked and thought I'd check my email while waiting for my number to be called. When I got home and turned it back on, it went into automatic disk checking, and it has been doing that (and only that) since. I'm having it fixed right away so I could go on with my life.

As of today, I have the following pending posts:

  • The Bohol Vacation
  • The Singapore Trip
  • The Bohol Trip for The Happy Sun charity
I have drafts of the Singapore entries already and will do my best to post them (and the other pending entries) within the week, before the Christmas rush sets in. In the last two weeks I have gained so much insight and there is just so much to share. My cup is filled to the brim and I am close to overflowing.

Busy busy busy.

The Happy Sun in Bohol - and Bacolod!

This is way belated, but the Happy Sun successfully shone its rays the first time on the shores of Bohol, where a group of 69 kids experienced a day of fun, fun, fun! Read about it here .

Incidentally, the Happy Sun is shining next on the City of Smiles - Bacolod! I'm reposting my friend, Piper's post.

All this to happen in February. Want to help? Call me.

Read all about it at the Happy Sun blog.

Spreading Some HAPPYness

I'm helping out in a friend's charity. We're spreading HAPPYness to some 70 kids at a daycare center in Bohol later this month. It isn't really part of the plan, but I thought that since I'm going anyways, I might as well bring with me some instructional and reading materials for the kids.

If you'd like to help by donating, please call me. 0918-9194911 / 0921-7714071 / 0917-2441221.

The Chronicler's Creed

Where there's water and sun, where there are friends to see or new people to meet, where there's something new to learn, experience, or do, where there's life, there I will be.

LA POESÍA

Y fue a esa edad... Llegó la poesía
a buscarme. No sé, no sé de dónde
salió, de invierno o río.
No sé cómo ni cuándo,
no, no eran voces, no eran
palabras, ni silencio,
pero desde una calle me llamaba,
desde las ramas de la noche,
de pronto entre los otros,
entre fuegos violentos
o regresando solo,
allí estaba sin rostro
y me tocaba.

And it was at that age... Poetry arrived
in search of me. I do not know, I do not know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I do not know how or when,
no, they were not voices, they were not
words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
from the branches of night,
abruptly from the others,
among violent fires
or returning alone,
there I was without a face
and it touched me.

- An excerpt from LA POESÍA (Poetry) by Pablo Neruda
