Last Chapter

Today is officially my last day at GMA. Here's to 3 wonderful years working with great people in a great company!

With Leo Sanchez, my boss of 3 years. On break in Boracay. Thanks for all the opportunities, the mentoring, and most of all, the friendship.

Early years at GMA. With Noli and Aileen, during an editing session for JSR.

On coverage in Bohol to do a story on seahorses.

At the JSR/KMJS cubicle, circa 2005.

Will miss the yosi breaks at the gazebo. Here with our former PC, Tetet, some time 2005.

Ethel before take. At the mall show of Show Ko! Pasiklaban ng Bayan, one of the first shows I handled.

With my ever-loyal, ever-hardworking, ever-beautiful Production Administrator, Gemma, at our newly assigned cubicle.

With the Balik-Bayan staff on pizza break.

With one of my EPs, Jacel, on yosi break at the 5th floor.

With Jane, on the road to Tagaytay for Leo's birthday celebration.

At my new cubicle.

The ladies of Q. Ganda!

My mum, posing with Joyce Jimenez, at the coffee shop on the 4th floor.

Great staff - the most creative, most loyal, most hardworking, most fun bunch of people you will ever meet.

Here's to endless post mortem and brainstorming sessions!

And loads of scripts, reports, and paperwork!

Ah, and the presentations! Woohoo!

We work hard, we play hard.

With my volleyball teammates and friends, Addy, Ali and Dante.

Many wonderful memories

many wonderful times

with many wonderful friends.

Today, the last chapter unfolds.

Tomorrow, a new set of challenges arises.

To the friends and family I have made in GMA, thank you for making my 3-year stay worth every while. I love you all.

  1. moving on... and moving on... it's what life is for all of us... or better yet, for most of us... others choose to stay... some decides to grow somewhere else...

but wherever we go, families remain...

  3. Huhuhu. I have to find a new yosi buddy. Or better yet quit smoking altogether. Who's gonna take my pictures? Who's gonna be my dinner buddy? Who's gonna clean the toilet? Who's gonna wash the dishes? Lady...are you crying...nuninuninu.

SIGH. I'm gonna miss working with you Glennie. It's been a wonderful ride. I've seen you laugh, cry, sing; with blonde hair, long hair, almost-kalbo hair; in rubber shoes, in leather shoes, and with no shoes at all; in sporty outfit, and pambinyag cum ninong-sa-kasal outfit; with big tummy, with bigger tummy, and...uh...well...hope to see you with flat tummy next time.

Oh..and who will ever forget that time when you went to work with those hmmm...plucked/shaven eyebrows? Bwahahahaha!

Glenn Ala - consumed 98% of my executive time during those bibo days.

Hay...tama na nga. Ang drama eh! As i've said, I will miss working with you. (WORKING being the operative word.) But I'll still see you around. Especially there at B1 where people always listen when you start to sing LISTEN.

Thanks for being a great colleague, buddy, bestfriend, dude, ateh, etc. etc.

Go spread your wings and soar!

    Luv yah!

The Chronicler's Creed

Where there's water and sun, where there are friends to see or new people to meet, where there's something new to learn, experience, or do, where there's life, there I will be.

LA POESÍA

Y fue a esa edad... Llegó la poesía
a buscarme. No sé, no sé de dónde
salió, de invierno o río.
No sé cómo ni cuándo,
no, no eran voces, no eran
palabras, ni silencio,
pero desde una calle me llamaba,
desde las ramas de la noche,
de pronto entre los otros,
entre fuegos violentos
o regresando solo,
allí estaba sin rostro
y me tocaba.

And it was at that age... Poetry arrived
in search of me. I do not know, I do not know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I do not know how or when,
no, they were not voices, they were not
words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
from the branches of night,
abruptly from the others,
among violent fires
or returning alone,
there I was without a face
and it touched me.
