Pencils Up! Pass Your Paper!

with Angels & Demons, Deception Point, and Digital Fortress - all by Dan Brown. I can't tell you how much I missed reading books.

Now, I've nothing left in my library to read. Somebody lend me a book - better yet - send me books!

Re-Creating at Caliraya

Was at the Caliraya Re-Creation Center earlier in the week to shoot the first 3 tasks of Hired's Male Image Model Search.

A million thanks, again, to our cameraman/photographer, Disney, for all these wonderful shots.

The place was expansive: Hills, forests, and recretional facilities, surrounded by a man-made lake.

There were many sequences to shoot but the staff and I found some time to take pictures.

And some time to goof around.

Missing Bohol

Never got to post the pictures of this trip either. Luckily I was able to upload a lot of my pictures to Picasa before my laptop gave in (again).

Here are the pictures of my Bohol trip last year. Love the place. Miss it terribly.

To Singapore With Love

Never got to post about my Singapore trip last year. Still too little time to spend on blogging so instead, I'm posting a slide show of the pictures I took.

Are You A Sex God?

Took the test at and got the following results. I, of course, modified the gender references accordingly.

Hark - the oracle speaks! A bolt of lightning falls from the sky! SHAZAAM! As the smoke clears, the hidden deity in you emerges and is revealed to be:

ARES, God of War.

You crave power and you value strength. However, you do not restrict these qualities to the battlefield. You bring your need for control into the bedroom. When behind closed doors, you quickly drop the game playing - and your pants. You love men, and you like to feel worshipped by the men you choose to bed. Comfortable with traditional gender roles, you like to be on top and call all the shots. Although sexually aggressive and strong, you make sure that the men you conquer are also fulfilled and satisfied. Your performance has been perfected through time and practice, and you are always ready to hit the sheets and strut your stuff! You leave a trail of satisfied mortals in your wake.

Of Pride and Prejudice

I've seen the movie, now I've read the book, and am resolved to read it again soon.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice raises some very interesting points on how civilities often stifle individuality, and how they usually breed pride and prejudice. All of this comes, of course, at a very opportune time in my life when the fine lines are drawn, blurred, erased, and re-drawn, between appearances and principles, honor and character, pride and dignity. I laughed and cried through the whole experience.

I could write a whole thesis on the book, but I don't have the time. Neither will I give it time. What I choose to give time to, instead, is reading. I so miss the exercise. Keeps the mind sharp.

Next on the agenda: Dan Brown's Angels & Demons, one of the books I've long been putting off.

South of the Border

Was in Davao this weekend to shoot an episode for Balik-Bayan, featuring musical genius, Jay Durias of South Border.

Here he is with host, Drew Arellano, being filmed by ace cameraman, Rey Ochavez.

At Taps, one of Jay's favorite dining places in Davao, with South Border manager, Sharon.

At People's Park in Davao, during the interview with Jay Durias. Was under the sun for close to an hour. Waaaah!

Outtakes: Rock on!

What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?

It appears from this quiz that my dominant intelligence is musical intelligence. The first sentence in the description below is quite a revelation for me. I may have always known it, but I was never really able to verbalize it.

Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence

Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes.
You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time.
You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it.
Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds.

You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer.

The Chronicler's Creed

Where there's water and sun, where there are friends to see or new people to meet, where there's something new to learn, experience, or do, where there's life, there I will be.

Y fue a esa edad... Llegó la poesía
a buscarme. No sé, no sé de dónde
salió, de invierno o río.
No sé cómo ni cuándo,
no, no eran voces, no eran
palabras, ni silencio,
pero desde una calle me llamaba,
desde las ramas de la noche,
de pronto entre los otros,
entre fuegos violentos
o regresando solo,
allí estaba sin rostro
y me tocaba.

And it was at that age... Poetry arrived
in search of me. I do not know, I do not know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I do not know how or when,
no, they were not voices, they were not
words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
from the branches of night,
abruptly from the others,
among violent fires
or returning alone,
there I was without a face
and it touched me.
